Scholarly communication

Printer-friendly versionSend by emailPDF version

The  term scholarly communication is  used to describe the process in which research workers, scientists and scholars disseminate research findings and other intellectual creations so that they are available to the wider scientific community and beyond. The most common method of scholarly communication is by writing up and publishing research findings and other intellectual creations in peer-reviewed outlets such as journals, book chapters, books, conference papers and lately in multi-media formats like sound and media recordings. Scholarly communication is indeed the cornerstone of science. It is the conduit for scientific knowledge in its broadest sense.
