Overall Course Outcome:  The Digital Repositories course will equip you with the skills necessary to have the current and relevant knowledge on Digital Repositories. The course will not only cover the use of repositories but also has practical and technical modules which will help you know the different types of software and be able to use them effectively. This will also help you choose the right platform that meets the needs of your institution. Other components to be covered during the course include, Managing the Digital Library; Developing Successful Information Literacy Instruction Programs; and Developing Technology Infrastructure.
Who Should Attend?Professionals involved in information management, institutional management, librarians, lecturers ,project administrators and any other professional who has a use for Digital Repositories in their work.
Course Main Topics:
·         What are Digital Repositories, their use, history and purpose?
·         Greenstone
·         D-Space
·         How much money do you need?  Planning the budget
·         Digitization of material
·         Managing the digital library
·         Developing successful Information Literacy instruction programs
·         Developing technology infrastructure
Training Format:
·         Training over 4 consecutive days, roughly 24 hours of training
·         Face to face in a group setting
·         Attendance on all 4 days is required for certificate of completion
